The Lado Tamburitzans ensemble was formed in 1981 by a group of enthusiastic adult tamburasi from the Hamilton, Ontario area who wanted to perform and promote "becar" style Croatian tamburitza music.Twenty years later, 26 performing members continue to excel in the playingand singing Croatian "becar" songs. Lado's music director is Joe Loncarich, "becar tamburas extraordinaire", an internationally acclaimed tamburitza teacher, director, recording artist, performer, and inductee to the Tamburitza Association of America Hall of Fame.

The dedication of Lado's director coupled with the commitmnet of all members has enabled Lado to share unique entertaining style with thousands of people troughout the USA and Canada. Lado's recordings have also been wellreceived in Australia, Austria and Croatia. A tour of Croatia in 1989, appearances at numerous festivals, concerts and charity venues and Lado's affiliation with CFU Lodge 954, Hrvatska Sloga, in Hamilton, Ontario have helped to promote Lado's music far and wide.

Lado's mission is to show that a large tamburitza orchestra can convey lively energetic style of Croatian music that many people associate with small ensembles.
