| Put away your snow boots and dust off your dancing shoes
as we welcome Zeljko Jergan to St. Louis for a Kolo Dance Workshop,
March 14th – 16th, 2003. This rare opportunity,
sponsored by the International Folk Dance Association, promises to
be a weekend of fun-filled dancing for all. Friday, March 14th, warm-up
with the 7:30 – 10:00 pm workshop session and be ready to continue
at 9:30 – 12 on Saturday morning. Lunch is from 12 – 1:30
and the afternoon session begins at 1:30 and lasts until 4 pm. A dinner
banquet will be held from 5:30 until 7pm. Complete the day with a
Kolo dance party from 7:30 – 10:45 pm with music provided by
Becari.
Friday and Saturday’s workshops will be held at Holy
Communion Church in University City. The church is conveniently
located on the corner of Jackson and Delmar; east of the 170 Innerbelt
and west of the University City Loop. Sunday’s workshop will
be held on the second floor at St. Joseph’s Croatian Church,
with dancing beginning directly after 10 am Mass and lasting into
the afternoon. As an added treat, the Croatian Junior Tammies will
be sponsoring a chicken dinner after Mass. Dinners are $6. Plan
on eating a delicious lunch and have all the energy necessary to
dance the entire afternoon.
The weekend workshop fee of $35 includes all
teaching sessions, the Saturday night Kolo party and a dance syllabus.
For those who prefer not to buy a package, individual sessions are
$8 and the Kolo Party is $10. Students and children under 18 receive
a 20% discount on all events. The cost for Saturday’s lunch
is $5 and the banquet Saturday night is $10. Please call in advance
if you plan on purchasing Saturday’s lunch or banquet dinner.

ethnic recordings, books, clothing and accessories on Friday and
Saturday.
The weekly radio program, “Music from the Hills” will
be featuring Croatian music on both Saturday, March 8th and 15th
from 4 – 5:30 on KDHX, 88.1 FM. Also, listen for announcements
from our own Stanko Mayer on the Croatian Radio Hour about the workshop.
Zeljko Jergan is not only well known among our Croatian people
but his expertise is renowned throughout the world. Since immigrating
to the United States in 1986, Zeljko has created over 350 original
choreographies for over 70 different amateur, semi-professional
and professional ensembles. He has traveled extensively throughout
the United States and Canada presenting workshops and has taught
in Europe, Japan and Taiwan. It is a real treat to have Zeljko coming
to the Midwest.
