There won't be any arrangements posted, is there some reason why they would not be placed on the website?
Is it even legal to make an arrangement of a piece of music, and post it on the net ? What about lyrics?
Does anybody know the rules for public performance of a relatively new piece of tambura music? Do rights need to be bought ?

Tamburalicks section of tamburaland features only parts of the songs because Mark doesn't have time to do full arrangements. It is not a legal issue. If someone has an arrangement of Croatian song that they want to share I will gladly post it.
As far as copyright issue goes; all of new songs are copyrighted but I have never heard of anyone paying for performance rights for tambura music except in Croatia and only for big concerts, and if you own a place that plays music (cafe, restaurant, dance club, etc...). You don't have to pay per song but there is a set fee.

This also goes for recordings. If you record a piece of music that you didn't write, you HAVE to pay the composer.
When we performed "Narodil Se Mladi Kralj" last year, we paid the composer hefty performance and recording rights fees.
Out of respect of the composers, we should be crediting them whenever we post lyrics and not just the performer (only sometimes are they one in the same). smile.gif

I'd rather not post that online. I can detail the budget for you offline if you like.
