View Full Version : Looking for another D Bug
I play a D Bugarija. Am looking for another Bug with fuller, more guitar-like sound. Can you offer any advice about finding one?

Yes!! A 4 tone 'E' like djuro's or similar. Not quite a guitar but a lot closer AND the chord structure is almost identical to what you play now, just another string(tone) added.
See if you can get djuro's when he's sippin on a Sljiv.....

Just HEARING that someone was thinking of messing with my ax while I was on a Sliv break, caused a little spillage jokin... ;)

since were talking about E bug's does anyone have a recording of a great bug player like Susa, something that really shows off the 4 tone?

Since NO ONE has provided a recorded answer to your request Nathan, I suggest that we all switch back to the 3-tone, and then listen to old Dave Zupkovich recordings... ;)

Dave's version of Miserlou - one of my all-time favorite renditions!

Didn't you see jokirinaround's comment at the top of this page, Pops? He was referring to MY Rajkovic, 'E' 4-tone.
- (I, of course STILL have my Valentich 3-tone, which was built in 1968.)

I changed the bridge and nut on an old bug of mine and made it a four tone and i've been trying to figure it out the last few days,
but i still have my VALENTICH 3 tone that was built in the "not so impressive" year of 2005, haha...
I need a better quality four tone though, the old bug i have that i changed to a four tone is a not so great (read: bad) bugarija, so it's hard to judge my bad 4 tone versus my good 3 tone...hmmm, guess i'll keep playing the 3 for now and work on procuring a better 4 tone...Where is rajkovic from? (and is he still alive?) i've only heard the name in passing, so i don't know anyting else.

Nathan,
Do you have/need a chord chart for that kontra?

no that's ok...
I understand music theory, and it's a string instrument, i see the chords before i play them...thanks though

Wow, well that's great. That's better than seeing them after you play them. :D
When are you going to demonstrate?
T-land fest?

Jokin,
I'm not sure, but I think that Nathan thought that you were offering him Kontra, 'sheet music' (charts). But nonetheless, I ALSO would like to see a demonstration of him 'seeing the chords' BEFORE he plays them. The only guy that I knew who could do that, was THIS guy...
