Greetings and welcome to Tamburalicks with Ðuka. My name is Mark Špišic – “Ðuka” and I will be your guide on a musical journey that will not only peak your interest in tambura music but may also improve your technique and repertoire. On this website you will find transcriptions for some of the greatest songs performed and written by many of the elite tambura musicians of the world. We will also look at some special techniques, motifs and idioms found in the folk, classical, and pop styles of tambura music.

Please understand that you will not find full musical arrangements on Tamburalicks with Ðuka. However, you will find excerpts of songs that may include prim licks by Janika Balaž, celo runs by Jerry Grcevich, brac fills by Peter Kosovec, etc. The list is endless. Use what you find here to emulate your favorite tamburaši and create your own new licks.

The transcriptions will be written in formal musical notation as well as in tambura tablature. You will also find downloadable mp3 files of each excerpt in a slower tempo to help you in your practice sessions. The music used on Tamburalicks with Ðuka will be geared towards the intermediate to advanced level player.

And so… the journey begins. Jump into the rabbit hole and find yourself in Tamburaland. Where you go is up to you...

Ðuka

Tamburalicks is a new section of Tamburaland. Mark and I are still working out the details on how to best present tamburalicks. There will be some rough edges in the beginning. We are open for suggestions. Please make your suggestions in Tamburalick forum

Thank you, Vjeko
